Kathleen Rowan is Chief Executive Officer of UOSSM USA, an organization that provides medical services and humanitarian medical relief to communities suffering from displacement and conflict. The global UOSSM movement currently serves people in Syria and in neighboring countries. Rowan joined the organization in 2016 as the CFO/COO, and was elected CEO in March 2017 by the board of UOSSM USA.
Kathleen has wide ranging experience and skills in nonprofit management and operations, and served in senior executive positions and Boards, as an audit specialist and strategic planner. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Prior to UOSSM, Kathleen served as the CFO of Enterprise/Works Vita, Relief International and Counterpart International. She graduated with a BSc (Accounting) from the University of Florida and has been practicing as a CPA (focused on non-profit accounting). She received an MPA from the Harvard University School of Government and completed advanced course work in social policy at the Heller School at Brandeis University. She has traveled extensively on business in the Far East (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh), the Middle East and Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Jordan, the West Bank and Lebanon) and Africa (Senegal, Ghana and Tanzania) as well as in Europe. She has consulted for and served on the Boards of several organizations in and around Washington, DC.
